Tip #1

If your hamster's old and bloated, and it's likely to be water retention due to a heart condition or kidney failure, you can try dandelion tea. It's a diuretic and helps them get rid of liquid in their system. The tricky part though is how much to feed your hamster. 0.5ml is probably too much for one serving. Too much liquid entering the system at once may make it worse.

I found the dried version from chinese medicine hall. ask for "pu(2) gong(1) ying (1)". and just boil it in water, making the tea! It'll probably be better if you can find fresh ones and feed directly to them. I couldn't find it in Singapore though.. :(

DISCLAIMER: We're not vets and are no where near being one. So it's just a suggestion picked up from forums. It did work for a while though.. So i guess if done correctly, it may relief your hamster from the bloatedness.

Our little aunty-hamster's gone..

She's my FIRST REAL pet. The FIRST furry pet that i smuggled home.

Spoilt her with lots of yummies and cuddles, and she returned the love by being the little sweetheart she is. She's always waiting on her upper deck when I go over to comb my hair. And always licks tofu and sticky rice off my fingers with her stumpy little tongue. She also never ever bit me, no matter how i poke her on her head or how hard i rub her cheeks.

Just want her to know that she's been a GREAT pet, and that we love her alot. And I know she loves us a lot too.

Don't know what else to say.. Just will miss her so damn much. So.. some pictures of her to share..
